CDs FAQ
Q: What kind of CDs do you buy?
A: We buy CDs related to anime and video games, including 8-cm CDs, sample (見本品) copies, and promotional CDs (非売品) without barcodes. We do not buy ex-rental CDs or CDs from other Asian regions. The CDs must be related to anime/video games.

Q: Do you buy duplicates?
A: You can submit up to 5 copies of the same CD every 6 months.
Q: Why sell to Kai Tora instead of other stores?
A: We pay a flat 30 yen for CDs that most other stores will only buy at 0 to 5 yen.
Q: Why sell to Kai Tora instead of selling online myself?
A: Our buyback price is near the amount that many bulk anime CD lots sell for in auction, meaning you can get around the same amount with significantly less effort (no need to wait for a buyer, take pictures, check prices, go to the post office, etc.)
Q: Is there a minimum transaction amount?
A: There is no minimum, but we recommend sending at least 75 CDs in a single box.
Shipping
Our prices are shipping inclusive, meaning that you need to pay for shipping when you send your items. Alternatively, you can drop items off at our office (appointment required). Kai Tora is located in Fukuoka prefecture in Kyushu. Shipping costs increase with distance and are determined by the size of the box. Box sizes are 60, 80, 100, 120, and 140. The "size" is the box's length + width + height (i.e., a box with dimensions of 75 cm will be rounded up to a size 80).
We recommend using Yupack as prices are not determined by weight, and they will also pick up your box at no cost. You can find the rates here.

Tips for reducing shipping costs:
・Shipping one large box is cheaper than shipping two or more smaller boxes.
Tips to ensure items arrive safely:
・Ensure the box is sturdy enough for the weight.
・Tape boxes in an H pattern, both top and bottom, and consider an additional line of tape at the bottom perpendicular across the middle.
・Use plastic bags or bubble wrap to protect from moisture due to rain, etc.
Condition
Items must be in both playable and sellable condition. Light wear is fine. We don't buy items with significant wear/damage. If items are rejected, you can choose to pay for the items to be shipped back to you or we can dispose of them.
Acceptable conditional defects (list not exhaustive):
・Cracked, damaged, or dirty case (generic cases only)
・Missing spine card (obi) or bonus items (stickers, etc.)
・Light wear/signs of use throughout the product
・Light signs of aging on older products
Unacceptable conditional defects (list not exhaustive):
・Significant (Obvious) color fading, tears, creases, stains, scratches, or other forms of general wear
・Item is nonfunctional or counterfeit
・Mold or water damage
・Missing disk, booklet, or case artwork
・Disk, booklet, and/or artwork mismatch
・Individual scratches that could affect play or a large quantity of light scratches
・Cracks in a disk of any size
・Writing
・Residue/Stickiness on product
・Strong odor (cigarettes, smoke, mold, etc.)
・No case or wrong case (cases don't have to be in good condition, but CDs must be in the correct type of case)
